The Grain of Rice
What is it? A six-day creativity retreat with Horst and Jennifer Kornberger,
Paul and Nicole Lawrence and their Balinese friends.
There are many stories about rice. It is said that Buddha lived on one grain of rice. Jennifer has written a story about another. If you want to be part of this new story (in which there is no fasting) come along and write some of it yourself. Become a story teller. Be an actor, even if you've never acted before. Draw. Stand under a sacred Banyan tree. Walk to a holy spring. Meet a master Balinese dancer and learn from him. Eat at the Yellow Flower Cafe. Talk (because you have the time). Inspire and be inspired by a great crew in a great location.
A DIFFERENT RETREAT
Paul and Nicole have lived in Bali. They speak the language.
Some of the best Balinese musicians and dancers are their friends.
They know the best places to eat, where to go and when.
They can tell Bali time.
Horst and Jennifer have never lived in Bali and don't speak the language.
They don't know where to go but they are happy to go there.
Their forte is being creative and helping others to become creative too.

here's what's happening in the tiny backyard...
i am paricipating in flora bowley's online class
after hanging the canvas in the 'outdoor studio'
i started painting the first layer - with my eyes closed...
this afternoon/evening i added another 2 intuitive layers,
just playing with colour
not thinking anything
listening to my favourite music
can't wait to see how this painting will evolve...
thank you Flora for an amazing start to the course!
that's what most of my friends want to know: how do i manage without my studio?
i feel really blessed and grateful that we had the studio, especially since we built it by hand with strawbales and rendered it with local clay. i even made an earthen floor by hand.
and for the few years that we had the studio it was great to have all that space to explore big art and craft projects. but by the end i had accummulated so much stuff, that it became a burden. for the last 10 months that we lived in our old house i hardly used the studio. it was a beautiful space but difficult to keep clean and tidy...
so now... i turn the whole living space at our new house into my studio and i only keep materials that i know i will use...
and a hanging spot next to the staircase for the finished scarves...
these ones are going down to gunyulgup galleries...
